Greetings for great 2012!!!
On behalf of the National Institute of Higher Education I wish to congratulate all our Mpumalanga matriculants who have passed their National Senior Certificate examination for 2011. The Institute share excitement of your hard labour that has yielded positive results. However, this is just one of the hurdles that you have jumped successfully in your life.
We wish you success as you start another journey into higher education at the respective higher education institutions scattered all over the country. This is an opportunity to carve your future and your destiny and therefore we hope you will use it expediently towards creating a brighter and better future for you.
We also would like to encourage those that did not make it this time to keep pressing on. It is not over with you.

I believe that with the experiences you’ve learnt the previous year, you are destined for success this time around. You too can be counted among the stars.

The mandate of the National Institutes for Higher Education to address the inadequate provision of Higher Education in Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape was first introduced in the National Plan for Higher Education which was released in February 2001. This innovative model, with respect to the provision of Higher Education, signalled the commitment of the Ministry of Education not only to the White Paper principle of widening access to previously politically and geographically disadvantaged communities, but also to deepening and entrenching collaboration between South African Higher Education Institutions.

Tertiary education on your doorstep

The 2011 matriculants' aspirations, wishes and dreams about the outcome of their results can now be considered history. The results have come and, to a certain extent, gone.

The reality of the post-results period has now dawned on all 2011 matriculants: "’Will I get a space to study at a university or a university of technology?’ This is a question many young people who have not yet been accepted at a tertiary institution ask themselves," says Prof Connie Mokadi, CEO of National Institute of Higher Education (NIHE) Mpumalanga, in a press release.
